C4ISR communication and network systems

The foundation of network-centric warfare
Northrop Grumman is the "go to" company for communications systems that enable secure, seamless information exchange across all elements of the Global Information Grid. In the heat of battle or rising international tensions, our advanced systems assure that vital information goes where and when it's needed - and with total security. These systems include tactical data link (TDL) gateway processors, simulators, and test sets … common link integration processors for aircraft, naval vessels, and ground vehicles … and mission management control software for satellite ground stations.

Northrop Grumman offers world-class expertise in tactical data link (TDL) technology. No other TDL products are as widely used. Our planning and management software are the industry standards for satellite communications, RF/wireless, and TDLs. We are also the premier provider of multi-link and interoperability certification tools. And, we were the first company to deliver and market a secure wireless LAN solution good enough to support military and intelligence applications.

Experience on Major Communications Programs

Link Management Systems

Gateway Manager
Powerful data link processor gives commanders a comprehensive operational picture in real time. Controls data communications locally and remotely, making it a flexible tool for managing tactical networks.

JNPT - JICO Network Planning Tool
The four services branches use this Window-based tool to build and modify existing Link-16 networks within a few hours.

LMS-11PC
For more than 20 years, our LMS-11 has monitored Link 11 networks and improved the data link communications of U.S. and Allied Services. Others have tried to match its capabilities, but LMS-11PC remains the first choice when commanders need Link 11 to work in operations.

LMS-16
Proven during operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo, and the Persian Gulf. Enables network managers to handle the complexities of making tactical data Link 16 communications work during real-world operations.

LMS-MT
Proven link management capability extended to a multi-TADIL environment. Manage J, A, and B networks in real-time with this "all-services" COTS JICO tool.

Test and Certification Systems

CCD - Common Connectivity Device
The connectivity powerhouse that drives our Common Platform architecture. CCDs translate data among tactical data systems, including Link 11, Link 16, and CEC.

DS3 - Distributed Simulation Stimulation System
A big dose of reality. The DS3 stimulates combat systems with sensor, navigation, and weapon system inputs … simulates motion and activities of thousands of air and surface tracks simultaneously … models sensors and the environmental effects on them.

MLST3/MLTT - Multi-Link System Test and Training Tool
Our premier data link simulation system. Perfect for development support testing, qualification testing, platform integration, tactical data systems certification, readiness testing, and training.

Support Services

Aegis Ship Program
For the first time, a new class of ships enters service with its combat systems already interoperable with fleet tactical data systems. Northrop Grumman IT developed the data link test systems and supported the testing and training that made it possible.

C2P - Command and Control Processor Support Program
Life-cycle support and technical development of the C2P, Re-host Command and Control Processor (RC2P), and Common Data Link Management System (CDLMS) programs. Includes software development, testing, and configuration management, plus technical documentation and installation support.

NCTSI - Navy Center for Tactical Systems Interoperability
Helping NCTSI to assure interoperability of tactical data link systems and provide the fleet support to achieve this goal since 1978.

Programs

I-JSS - Interim JICO Support System
Now, Joint Interface Control Officers will have the ability to dynamically manage tactical data link networks in support of network-centric, combat operations - so they can better ensure real-time sharing of threat, target, and command and control information.

ITAS - Integrated Tactical Avionics Systems
Developed for the Royal Australian Navy SH-2G(A) Super Seasprite helicopter. Provides crew members complete and up-to-the moment-awareness of the tactical situation.

NILE - NATO-Improved Link 11
Enables participating NATO nations to procure tactical data systems that are interoperable and compatible with those of the other participating Link 22 nations.

ROBE - Roll-On Beyond Line-of-Sight Enhancement
Roll this rapidly installable and transportable tactical data link node onto a tanker aircraft. Instantly, the tanker is a communications center, able to relay command decision-making information anywhere in the world.

SRMT - Surveillance Reconnaissance Management Tool
The first shipboard system that assists afloat commanders in managing surveillance and reconnaissance information during Joint Task Force operations.
